The Tampa Yankees are getting kids excited about going back to school this weekend with their annual “Back to School Blast.”

On Friday, July 25, the first 600 kids ages 14 and younger through the gates when they open at 6 p.m. will receive a Tampa Yankees backpack.

Leading up to the game, fans are encouraged to check social media, including the Yankees’ Facebook, Twitter and Google + pages for a keyword to use at the ticket office to score $2 admission.

You don’t have to sprain your pocketbook feeding young fans at the game, either. There will be drink specials, $10 all-you-can-eat chicken wings and $1 small sodas.

Post-game fireworks are also on the agenda.

The Yankees play at George Steinbrenner Field, One Steinbrenner Drive, Tampa.
