City of Tampa residents can landscape their yards and contribute to our city’s canopy with free trees.

To get a free tree, residents simply submit a request by filling out an online form or by calling (813) 274-7733.

A representative from the tree program will respond and set up an appointment to inspect the site for tree type and placement. Once approved, a tree will be assigned to the planting list. The entire process takes about 2 - 3 weeks.

All residents have to do is agree to follow the watering guidelines for the first year to help the tree get established.

There is a no charge for the homeowner to claim a tree.

For more about the free tree program, visit the city website for complete details.
