CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — A New Hampshire nurse who gave a lethal dose of insulin to her brother-in-law who suffered from cancer has surrendered her license.
The state attorney general's office said Catherine George told police in Derry last fall that she had killed her 55-year-old brother-in-law, Randall Percival, by giving him 300 units of insulin.
The state Board of Nursing said the 49-year-old George, when asked how she got the insulin, said she took it home from work by mistake and forgot to return it.
Percival, who lived in Raymond, died Oct. 9.
George pleaded guilty Thursday to unlawfully possessing the drug. She was sentenced to 30 days in jail, all of which was suspended for two years on condition of good behavior.
