BROOKSVILLE – A Brooksville man continued to be held on $650 bond Tuesday on charges of disorderly intoxication and resisting an officer.
According to an arrest affidavit, law enforcement saw Donald W. Hammond, 39, drunk near his home at 9886 Lake Drive and behaving in an “extremely belligerent” and “agitated state.”
Law enforcement was in the area working on another investigation, and saw three empty Four Loco’s in the driveway, authorities said.
Hammond continued drinking a Natural Ice while talking with deputies, the affidavit shows.
When Hammond was placed under arrest, he refused to stand up and continued drinking the beer and threatened the female deputy, according to the sheriff’s office.
Hernando County Fire Rescue responded to calls of an illegal burn at Hammond’s home the previous day. Hammond was angry the fire department was called, the report shows, and “verbally threatened the neighbors to ‘burn the (expletive) house down,” authorities said.
Court records show Hammond has been convicted of multiple felony and misdemeanor charges in the past.
