The Gasparilla Music Festival will return to downtown Tampa's waterfront for a second year on March 9.
Promoters announced Grammy-winning band Ozomatli as the first of several acts that will headline the daylong concert festival, which takes place at Curtis Hixon Park. More bands are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
The L.A.-based Ozomatli, known for mashing up Latin, funk and hip-hop styles, will play an evening set on the festival's Kiley Gardens Stage, along with a special family-friendly set earlier in the day.
A limited number of advance purchase tickets are available for $20 from gasparillamusicfestival.com. Ticket prices will increase as more bands are added to the lineup. Admission is free for children under 12.
The inaugural 2012 Gasparilla Music Festival drew thousands of fans to see national acts including Ra Ra Riot and Deer Tick, alongside local bands such as Have Gun, Will Travel.
Along with four stages of live music, the festival will include a children's area with arts, crafts, games and other family friendly activities in Kiley Gardens, located between Curtis Hixon Park the Rivergate Tower.
