Whole Foods Market Carrollwood is hosting a pet party from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13.

The pet adoption event will include costume and talent contests as well as giveaways and freebies. Contest prizes include Whole Paws pet food gift bags and store gift cards. Pre-registration for the contests is required by calling (813) 264-3600. The event is free.

Adoptable pets will be available on-site through Hillsborough County Animal Services and Lost Angels Rescue and anyone who adopts or fosters a pet will receive a pet essentials bag donated by Whole Foods Market.

The store will also donate a free bag of Whole Paws dog food for each bag that a customer purchases and donates at the event. Animal services will also be accepting donations of used blankets for the shelter.

The first 50 pets will receive a free Whole Paws bag that includes pet food samples, food scoop and reusable pet food-saver lid. There is a limit of one goodie bag per person.

Pets must play well with others and must remain on leashes at all times. Owners are required to bring their own supplies to clean up after their pets.

Whole Foods Market Carrollwood is at 3802 Northdale Blvd., Tampa.
