Many Tampa Bay residents will have an extra day off this long holiday weekend in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We've rounded up some ways you can celebrate and relax without breaking the bank.
Free national park admission: Fees are waived on entrance fees, commercial tour fees and transportation entrance fees at all national parks on Monday, Jan. 20. In Florida, this includes the Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve near Jacksonville, Big Cypress National Preserve and Everglades National Park in south Florida.

Black Heritage Fest free events: Participate in a 5K walk and enjoy a free day-long music fest featuring 70s legends The Ohio Players at Curtis Hixon Park. Parade: This 25th annual parade honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., travels east from 15th Street along his namesake street and heads north on 22nd Street beginning at noon in Tampa on Monday, Jan. 20. Visit http://mlkjrparade.com/paraderoute.asp for a map of the route.

Blood drive giveaways: In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. day, all lifesaving blood donors at select Tampa Bay Chick-fil-A locations will receive a limited edition MLK T-shirt and Chick-fil-A coupons for a free order of breakfast Chick-n-Minis and a chicken sandwich.

Typically, healthy people age 16 or older who weigh at least 110 pounds can donate blood. Donors receive a wellness checkup which includes blood pressure, temperature, iron count and cholesterol screening as part of the donation process.
