Florida requires an annual license for anyone over age 16 to enjoy fresh or saltwater fishing.

But for a few days each year, the license fee is waived and everyone can fish for free.

On Sunday (Sept. 1), saltwater fishing will be allowed for free for anyone who wishes to participate.

The saltwater waiver applies to any recreational activity requiring a saltwater fishing license including crabbing, scalloping, etc. as well as fishing from shore or from a boat.

The annual fee is normally around $17.
