Tampa ushers in Christmas with downtown tree lighting, parade

Downtown Tampa will help usher in the holidays this weekend with a Christmas parade and festival on Saturday.

Tampa's Christmas Market, featuring jewelry, arts and crafts, and other holiday-themed items, will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Saturday's downtown Santa Fest holiday parade begins at 11 a.m. at Morgan and Madison streets. It will be followed by live music, kids' games, giveaways and free photos with Santa at Curtis Hixon park.

Parade viewers are encouraged to arrive by 9 a.m.
