Tampa Bay area bars, restaurants serve up Super Bowl specials

Don't feel like watching the Super Bowl at home? No problem.

There are plenty of places around the Tampa Bay area that would love to have you over for the big game, and they're offering cheap eats, drink specials, games, prizes and prime viewing options to get you there.

Here are some options:

Lee Roy Selmon's, all locations – The chain named for the late-great Tampa Bay Buccaneer is again hosting its Super Spread Sunday. For $63, guests get an "all-access" pass to enjoy unlimited St. Louis ribs, pulled pork, sliders, sides and drinks, as well as a prime-viewing seat to watch the game on one of the high definition TVs from 5:30 p.m. until the final whistle. Reservations recommended.

Peabody's Billiard and Games, 15333 Amberly Drive, Tampa – The gigantic sports bar, pool hall and USF hangout will give away a 42-inch LCD TV during its Super Bowl party, which promises a visit from the "Miller Lite girls," who will give away Super Bowl "bling," and a pick-a-square contest with even more prizes throughout the game. There are also $2.50 draft beers, food specials and a nice view of the game action on the bar's two 10-foot projector screens and numerous plasma TVs.

Edward's Havana Nights, 15407 N Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa – The cigar bar and lounge will start things out with a pre-party featuring live music and specials on drinks and cigars, beginning at 3 p.m. A dinner buffet will coincide with the start of the Super Bowl broadcast at 6:30, with prize drawings and free Johnny Vegas shots poured after every touchdown throughout the game.

Frenchy's Rockaway Grill, 7 Rockaway St., Clearwater – Enjoy the game on a 50-foot jumbo screen and the ocean breeze on the beach. The beachside, open-air restaurant is offering drink specials ($3 bloody marys, $2 mimosas) and live music at the pre-party beginning at 2 p.m., and a game-time dinner buffet beginning at 6 p.m. During the game there will be specials on Bud Light and Corona beer buckets, as well as cigars. Peggy O Neill's Irish Pub, 1026 Florida Ave., Palm Harbor – Local sports radio personality Rich Herrera and former Tampa Bay Buccaneer player Booger McFarland host Peggy's Super Bowl Party, beginning at 4 p.m. The party will include $10 specials on buckets of Bud Light and Miller Light and 50-cent wings, as well as games and prizes during the game.

Cooters Raw Bar & Restaurant, 423 Poinsettia Ave., Clearwater Beach – The popular establishment known for its fresh seafood hosts its 20th annual Super Bowl party, beginning at 5 p.m., and the 14 HD TVs in the adjoining sports bar offer plenty of ways to see the action. There will be contests and prizes during each quarter, including a free raffle for a two-night stay at the Magnuson Hotel on Clearwater Beach. The Budweiser and Corona promo girls will be giving away free logo gear throughout the night. Other specials: $7.99 beer pitchers and food deals.

Pier 22 Restaurant, 1200 First Ave. W., Bradenton – With 11 large high definition LED TVs and surround sound in the lounge and enclosed patio area, there are plenty of places to cheer for your favorite team and enjoy pitcher and bottled beer specials, as well as contests and prizes each quarter. The food menu includes a Cuban pig roast with black beans and rice, oysters on the half shell, chili, wings and more.

Fusion Cigar Lounge, 11642 North Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa – The Tampa cigar lounge is roasting a pig for its outdoor Rocky Patel Super Bowl party that features specials on Beck's Sapphire beer and Rocky Patel cigars all night. The game will be shown on a big outdoor screen and there will be raffles and giveaways of cigar gear throughout the party, including a box of Rocky Patel Zen cigars and a humidor.

Walter's Press Box Sports Emporium, 222 S Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa – One of the city's oldest sports bars, the Press Box has five big screens and 23 TVs as well as specials on wings and beer ($2 drafts, $7 pitchers) going on for the big game. They'll also have the "Smirnoff promo girls" in the house to give away Smirnoff gear, as well as other giveaways and raffles throughout the night.

Fountain Square,  238 East Davis Island Boulevard, Tampa -- The restaurant's Super Fest street party kicks off at noon and will feature live music from local rock/soul band The Black Honkeys, along with contests, food trucks and more. Wear a football jersey and get a free drink. Admission is $10 at the gate.
