In one of the more unique confluences of fan promotions, the Tampa Bay Rays are inviting swim clubs, hunters, teachers and fans of the band OneRepublic to Saturday’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays.

The evening begins with world-class swimmer Megan Romano, a Northeast High School graduate, throwing out the first pitch to mark Swim Club Day.

Swim clubs that bring groups of 20 or more will receive a discounted outfield seat and Rays swim cap.

The Rays will also celebrate the opening of hunting season by offering discounted seats in the lower reserved area with a camouflage-style Rays cap for $35. Groups of 10 or more can receive an additionally discounted ticket for $30 and preferred seating.

With schools opening this month, the Rays will host Teacher Appreciation Night by offering educators a specially priced seat in the baseline box seats with a Rays Teacher Appreciation tote. Groups of 10 or more will receive preferred seating and a scrolling scoreboard welcome.

A postgame concert featuring OneRepublic (“Apologize,” “All the Right Moves,” “Secrets”) seals the night.

Romano, who swims for the University of Georgia, holds U.S. and NCAA records in the 200 freestyle. She is coming home after a busy few weeks at the World Championships in Spain and World University Games in Russia. In Russia, she continued to build her reputation as one of the country’s best anchor swimmers, helping the United States win gold in the 400 freestyle and 400 medley relays.

Game time is 7:10 p.m. Friday at Tropicana Field.
