Save the trouble, have Thanksgiving at these Tampa Bay area restaurants

If not having to load the dishwasher after the annual fall family feast is on your list of things you’re thankful for, then you better make some reservations for Thanksgiving. Here is a select list of restaurants that are open or willing to cook for you so you can take it home.

 

THE CAPITAL GRILLE, 2223 N. West Shore Blvd., Tampa, (813) 830-9433 and www.the capitalgrille.com. Along with their regular menu, the restaurant will be offering their take on Thanksgiving favorites; 12 p.m. Thanksgiving Day; $36 adults, $15 children 2 and younger; reservations required.

 

THE CHART HOUSE, 7616 W. Courtney Campbell Causeway, Tampa, (813) 289-7773 and www.chart-house.com. Serving a buffet with all the trimmings with a view of Tampa Bay; $38.99 adults, $10.99 children 12 and younger; 11 a.m. Thanksgiving Day; reservations recommended.

 

BON APPETIT, 150 Marina Plaza, Dunedin, (727) 733-2151 and www.bonappetitrestaurant .com. This landmark Dunedin restaurant will offer a Thanksgiving buffet; $45 adults and half price for children younger than 10; extra portions of turkey, stuffing and gravy will be available for take home for $8; 12 p.m. Thanksgiving Day in the Sunset Ballroom; reservations recommended.

 

BUCA DI BEPPO, 11105 Causeway Blvd., Brandon, (813) 681-8462 and www.bucadibeppo.com. Enjoy a traditional turkey dinner with a meatball on the side, if you like. The restaurant will offer a feast for three featuring turkey with gravy, garlic mashed potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, homemade spicy Italian sausage stuffing and mini chocolate cannolis for $49.95 ($89.95 serves six); 11 a.m. Thanksgiving Day; also available as take out.

 

THE DON CESAR, 3400 Gulf Blvd., St. Pete Beach, (800) 282-1116 and www.loewshotels .com. The pink palace on the Gulf of Mexico serves the traditional meal several ways: Sea Porch offers a breakfast buffet at $19.50 a person from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., lunch buffet at $49.95 for adults and $22.95 for children from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and a three-course meal costing $44.95 for adults and $19.95 for children at 5:30 p.m.; the Maritana Grille offers a four-course tasting menu at $85 per person at 4 p.m.; and the King Charles Brunch, with carving stations, seafood buffet and a large dessert table from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for $64.95 for adults and $29.95 for children; reservations required.

The restaurant will offer its regular menu, with Thanksgiving-themed specialties including pumpkin soup, turkey confit and a bananas Foster station; 11 a.m. ; $34.95 for adults, $14.95 for children younger than 11; reservations not required.

 

CRACKER BARREL, 13833 W. Hillsborough Ave., Tampa, and other locations in the Bay area, (813) 855-4200 and www.crackerbarrel.com. Thanksgiving dinner featuring a traditional feast topped off with Pumpkin Pecan Streusel pie; 11 a.m.; $9.99 for adults, $4.99 for children; Thanksgiving dinner to go feeds six people is available for $54.99 and requires 24 hours notice; reservations not required.

 

MAGGIANO’S, 203 WestShore Plaza, Tampa, (813) 288-9000 and www.maggianos.com. Maggiano’s will offer a four-course Thanksgiving meal featuring traditional and Italian items; $36.95 for adults, $17.95 for children 5 to 12; 11 a.m.; reservations recommended.

 

PICCADILLY, go to www.piccadilly.com to find a location in your area. You can gobble up a Thanksgiving meal or enjoy the menu’s standard fare; 11 a.m. ; $10.99 per person.

 

BOSTON’S THE GOURMET PIZZA, 9316 Anderson Road, Tampa, (813) 901-9590 and www.bostonsgourmet.com. Grab a slice of pie — pizza and pumpkin — as the pizzeria serves up a classic Thanksgiving dinner; noon; $12.99.

 

BERN’S STEAK HOUSE, 1208 S. Howard Ave., Tampa, (813) 251-2421 and www.bernsteakhouse.com. Tampa’s renowned fine dining establishment will offer its regular menu, with entrees starting at $25; 4 p.m.; reservations are recommended.

 

COLUMBIA RESTAURANT, locations in the Tampa Bay area include Ybor City and Sand Key in Clearwater Beach, (813) 248-4961; www.columbiarestaurant .com. The Spanish restaurant will offer its regular menu plus a traditional Thanksgiving dinner; 11 a.m.; $21.95 for adults, $5.95 for children age 10 and younger; the Columbia Café at the Tampa Bay History Center will be closed, and the Columbia Restaurant Café at Tampa International Airport will not offer Thanksgiving dinner but will be open and serving from its regular menu; reservations recommended.

 

SAFETY HARBOR RESORT & SPA, 105 N. Bayshore Drive, Safety Harbor, (727) 726-1161 ext. 7100 and www.safety harborspa.com. The hotel will celebrate the holiday with a Thanksgiving-themed buffet at $37.95 for adults, $14.95 for children age 10 and under; reservations required.

 

JACKSON’S BISTRO, 601 S. Harbor Island Blvd., Tampa, (813) 277-0112 and www .jacksonsbistro.com. The waterside bistro will offer its regular dinner menu along with select Thanksgiving items; noon.

 

THE HURRICANE, 807 Gulf Way, St. Pete Beach, (727) 360-9558 and www.thehurricane.com. Feast on a Thanksgiving buffet with a view of the Gulf of Mexico; 11 a.m.; $26.99 for adults and $11.99 for children; reservations recommended.

 

1823 KITCHEN & BAR, 2900 Bayport Drive, Tampa, (813) 207-6780 and www.grand tampabay.hyatt.com. The restaurant will offer a buffet beginning at 11 a.m.; $49 for adults, $21.50 for children age 6 to 12; reservations recommended.

BOCA KITCHEN BAR & MARKET, 901 W. Platt Street, Tampa, (813) 254-7070 and www.BocaTampa.com. Boca will do the cooking, but you have to take it home to eat it. The eatery is offering house smoked turkey, maple and brown sugar glazed ham, Boca sausage stuffing, sweet potato mash, cream corn casserole and pumpkin and pecan pies for takeout; call for prices; orders must be placed by Nov. 22 and picked up on or before 11 a.m. Thanksgiving Day.

 

PELAGIA TRATTORIA, 4200 Jim Walter Blvd., Tampa (813) 313-3235. A Thanksgiving buffet with a carving station, pasta station, cold seafood and more; 10 a.m.; $49 for adults, $18 for children 12 and younger; reservations required.

 

RENAISSANCE VINOY RESORT & GOLF CLUB, 501 Fifth Ave N.E., St. Petersburg, (727) 894-100. Marchand’s will offer a four-course Thanksgiving meal at 1 p.m.; $48 for adults, $25 for children 11 and younger; reservations required.

 

SEMINOLE HARD ROCK HOTEL, 5223 N. Orient Road, Tampa, (866) 502-7529. Fresh Harvest will feature a Thanksgiving buffet while The Green Room and Council Oak Steakhouse will offer regular menu items along with Thanksgiving items; Fresh Harvest buffet, 10:30 a.m., $30; The Green Room, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Council Oak Steakhouse, 5 p.m.; reservations recommended.

 

APOLLO’S BISTRO, 6520 Richie’s Way, Apollo Beach, (813) 641-2685. Apollo’s will serve a traditional family Thanksgiving buffet; 11 a.m. ; $19.99 per person; reservations required.

 

SUNSHINE CAFÉ, 3808 State Road 674, Sun City Center, (813) 633-3344. Holiday menu features turkey, ham, baked chicken and chicken stir fry; 11 a.m. ; entrees are priced from $13.99 to $15.99; reservations recommended.

The restaurant will offer a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings, including roast turkey, traditional herb stuffing, Yukon gold mashed potatoes, maple-glazed butternut squash, French green beans and house-made cranberry relish; 11:30 a.m.; $25.95 for adults; a children’s portion, as well as the full autumn dinner menu, also will be available; reservations recommended.

 

MITCHELL’S FISH MARKET, 204 WestShore Plaza, Tampa, (813) 289-3663 and www.mitchells fishmarket.com. Celebrating “our country’s heritage through food,” Mitchell’s is offering a three-course Thanksgiving dinner with roasted turkey, stuffing, mashed cinnamon sweet potatoes and cranberry relish; it also will off its full dinner menu; 11 a.m.; $24.99 for adults, $8.99 for children; reservations recommended.


TAMPA BAY’S 8TH ANNUAL THANKSVEGAN FEAST, Unitarian Universalist Church of Tampa, 11400 Morris Bridge Road, Temple Terrace, (813) 758-7419 and tampavegthanksgiving.com. Potluck-style feast with Celebration Roasts with mushroom gravy, Tofurky Roasts, vegan cakes and more; 1 to 5:30 p.m.; $6 for adults with vegan dish serving a minimum of six people; $16 without dish; children, students and seniors by donation.
