Patrick Wilson to sing national anthem at Rays-Rangers game

Hollywood actor and St. Petersburg native Patrick Wilson will sing the national anthem at tonight’s Tampa Bay Rays game against the Texas Rangers at Tropicana Field at 7:10 p.m.

Wilson, who attended Shorecrest Preparatory School in St. Pete, went on to star in films such as “Lakeview Terrace,” “Watchmen,” and the hit horror flicks “The Conjuring” and “Insidious,” among dozens of other Hollywood acting credits.

Wilson’s singing voice should be plenty warmed up by the time he takes the field tonight. On Thursday, he starred in a one-night-only production of the musical “Guys and Dolls” at Carnegie Hall in New York.

Wilson also serves as the vocalist for the rock band Wilson Van, which includes his brothers, WTVT FOX 13 anchor Mark Wilson, and Paul Wilson.
