'Housewives' visit canceled over remark

“Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Brandi Glanville won't be appearing in Tampa tonight because of what she said on the Bravo TV series earlier this week.

The reality star was supposed to walk the red carpet during a party at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, but the Hard Rock says they've dropped Glanville from the list of celebrities attending because of racial comments made on the show.

Glanville stunned the other “Housewives” in an episode that aired Monday by saying “You're a black person” in response to co-star Joyce Giraud admitting she couldn't swim.

Glanville went on to defend the comment in the episode, saying “It was a joke and my black friends would've laughed crazy,” before adding, “All my black friends can't swim.”

“Until this situation is behind her, our organization feels it's best to reinforce our culture and values at this time, which consist of love and respect for all,” Hard Rock Tampa president John Fontana said in a news release.

“Real Housewives of Miami” stars Joanna Krupa and Karent Sierra, as well as musicians Mark McGrath, of Sugar Ray, and Steve Harwell, of Smash Mouth, are still scheduled to attend the party to unveil the Hard Rock Girls 2014 swimsuit calendar.

The party begins at 8 p.m. at the casino's Hard Rock Cafe. Tickets are $40.
