It's going to be a bit of a soggy start for the weekend throughout the Tampa Bay area, but the heaviest rain has already passed, WFLA meteorologists said.
A slow moving front stretching from the coast to as far inland as Brandon is moving south through the area, bringing rain and some possibility of lightning strikes, WFLA meteorologist Bryan Bennett said.
“Once that passes through by early this afternoon, it will be much lighter, with just some scattered showers here and there,” Bennett said Saturday morning.
Overall there is about a 70 percent chance you'll experience some rain if you're in the Tampa Bay area Saturday.
The afternoon high will be in the high 70s, with temperatures dropping into the high 50s tonight.
Sunday will be mostly sunny with temperatures in the high 70s.
