Jimmy Fallon, Cyndi Lauper and Cedric “The Entertainer” are among concerts announced Monday by various Bay area venues.
The future host of “The Tonight Show” will bring his “Clean Cut Comedy Tour” Oct. 16 to Tampa Theatre for one-night only. Tickets are $45 and go on sale at noon Saturday.
In 1998, Fallon joined Saturday Night Live as a cast member, standing out with his musical impressions and song parodies. In 2009, Fallon took over the reins of NBC's “Late Night.” This year NBC announced he would replace Jay Leno as host of “The Tonight Show” in 2014.
Fallon's “Comedy Tour” also will feature Julian McCullough, Nate Bargatze and Nick Thune.
Two 30th anniversary tours hit Ruth Eckerd this fall.
Cyndi Lauper and her “She's So Unusual Tour” plays there at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 8. Lauper will play her entire debut album that includes perennial favorites including “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” and “She Bop.” Her special guest is Hunter Valentine.
Then, Huey Lewis and the News brings its Sports Tour there 8 p.m. Dec. 6. Lewis will play the hits from that album – “The Heart of Rock & Roll,” “Heart & Soul” and “I Want a New Drug” – in addition to other songs.
Next spring, fans can see former teen idol of the '50s Paul Anka at Ruth Eckerd at 8 p.m. April 4. Anka shaped a generation with hits such as “Diana,” “Lonely Boy” and “Put Your Head on My Shoulder.” Anka this year released his New York Times-bestselling autobiography, “My Way” and a 14-song album, “Duets,” released by Sony Music Entertainment which features artists including Tom Jones, Dolly Parton, Leon Russell, Willie Nelson and Celine Dion.
If you're in the mood for some country music, “American Idol” finalist and winner of “Dancing with the Stars” finalist Kelli Pickler will head to Clearwater on Oct. 11.
Pickler's debut album “Small Town Girl” has sold more than 800,000 copies worldwide and produced three hits including “Red High Heels.”
Tickets for all four shows go on sale at noon Saturday at the Ruth Eckerd Hall Ticket Office, 1111 McMullen Booth Road in Clearwater, or by calling (727) 791-7400.
Tickets to the Fallon show also will be available at the Tampa Theatre box office at 711 Franklin Street in downtown Tampa.
Cedric “The Entertainer” will play The Mahaffey in St. Petersburg on Oct. 5.
The comedian, who also is an actor, producer and director, is best known as a headliner in Spike Lee's “The Original Kings of Comedy” and for his scene-stealing moments in the “Barbershop” films.
Right now, he is starring in “Soul Man,” his popular sitcom on TV Land.
Tickets to see Cedric start at $49.50 and go on sale noon Friday at The Mahaffey box office, 400 First St. S., St. Petersburg, by phone at (727) 893-7832 or at TheMahaffey.com
