Former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Brad Culpepper orchestrated a huge blindside Wednesday night sending a member of his own “five-guy” alliance to Redemption Island on “Survivor: Blood vs. Water.”
John Cody, who forged a friendship with the Tampa attorney even sharing clues with him regarding the hidden immunity idol, found himself voted out of the Tadhana tribe, joining his wife Candace on Redemption Island.
It appeared the men of Tadhana were going to vote another woman out – Ciera -- before Culpepper turned on Cody, reasoning that it would be better to lose John now before the eventual tribe merge. John Cody looked stunned and Culpepper appeared smug when host Jeff Probst read the votes.
It was an emotional episode with contestants competing one-on-one with their loved ones sumo-wrestler style for immunity. Galang won their third immunity challenge in a row.
Before the challenge began, Colton Cumbie, a veteran and divisive “Survivor” player, quit the game.
“I’m tired of being hated by everybody,” he said.
In previews for next week’s episode, Culpepper, who calls himself the “grand poobah”, goes from the “driver’s seat to the hot seat” drawing ire from his own tribe and those on Redemption Island.
