Casting directors are coming to Tampa in search of stars for a new reality series about talented tattoo artists.
The Oxygen network’s “Best Ink” will feature 12 artists battling head-to-head for cash prizes in a variety of challenges, including designing tattoos and tattooing real people. In the end, one artist will win the title of “Best Ink.”
The show will also capture the “drama and culture of the tattoo scene,” according to a news release from the show’s producers.
An open casting call for artists will be held May 1, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hooters restaurant at 615 Channelside Drive.
Those interested in appearing on the show should bring a recent photo of themselves, photo identification and photos of their artwork.
Photos of the artists will not be returned, but photos of their artwork will be given back.
Artists must be at least 21 to apply for the show.
Artists who can’t make it to the casting call but would still like to be considered should send an email with the subject “Tampa, Florida” to firstname.lastname@example.org, and include their name, phone number, city and a short bio, along with recent photos of themselves and their artwork.
“Best Ink” is being produced for Oxygen by Bunim/Murray Productions, which also produces “The Real World,” “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” and “Bad Girls Club,” among a long list of other reality shows.
