Comedian Chris D’Elia, best known for portraying boozy boyfriend Alex on the now-defunct NBC sitcom “Whitney,” is bringing his stand-up act to the Straz Center’s Ferguson Hall on Oct. 25 at 8 p.m.

D’Elia’s new series, “Undateable,” aired as a summer replacement on NBC and recently wrapped up its first season.

His stand-up has been featured on Comedy Central’s “Live at Gotham” and “Comedy Central Presents,” as well as “Live Nude Comedy” on Showtime, and he has appeared as a regular on “Glory Daze” on TBS. In 2013, D’Elia released a parody album as his rapping alter-ego, Chank Smith.

Tickets, priced at $27.50 and $35 go on sale Friday at noon through strazcenter.org or by calling (813) 229-7827.
