From fireworks to patriotic concerts, and beach parties to solemn ceremonies, you'll find a special way to celebrate those who sacrificed in our list of Memorial Day events.

 

HILLSBOROUGH

Military Families Day: In honor of the Memorial Day weekend, Blue Star Museums, including the Henry B. Plant Museum and MOSI in Tampa, the Tarpon Springs Area Historical Society, The Ringling in Sarasota, the Florida Holocaust Museum in St. Petersburg, Bok Tower Gardens in Bartow, Explorations V Children's Museum and the Polk Museum of Art in Lakeland will offer veterans, active duty or retired military personnel and their families free admission; call or check websites for hours.

Memorial Day Parade: Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco serves as grand marshal of the parade, which includes marching gands and Shriner units and honors troops who have died serving their country; parade starts at Dupree Lakes Boulevard off Collier Parkway in Land O' Lakes and ends just pass the Baldomero Lopez Memorial Veterans Nursing Home on Parkway Boulevard; (813) 995-2736
