A musical showcase by 30 students participating in the Grammy Museum’s Music Revolution has sold out Clearwater’s Capitol Theatre and a second show has been scheduled.
The second Music Revolution Concert will be 9:15 p.m. Friday at historic venue.
“We are thrilled with the support from the community about this project,” Zev Buffman, Ruth Eckerd Hall President and CEO, said in a news release. “I look forward to introducing to you the next generation of rock stars live on the Capitol Theatre stage.”
The concerts are the culmination of a four-week musical immersion workshop, where area students created and composed new music. They were mentored by Grammy Museum instructors and internationally known artists.
Students in the concert are from Tampa Bay area schools including Berkeley Preparatory School and Blake High School in Tampa and Gibbs and East Lake high schools in Pinellas County as well as St. Petersburg College.
The concert is free but a ticket is required for admission. They are available by calling the Ruth Eckerd Hall ticket office at (727) 791-7400 or after 3 p.m. Friday at the Capitol Theatre ticket office, 405 Cleveland St., Clearwater.
