Kim’s Tuesday musings: Scary Newton and ‘DWTS’

By

Dear Las Vegas Tourism Board: If you want me to visit your fair city and drop loads of cash at the casinos, lounges and shows, I recommend you reconsider putting Wayne Newton in your commercials.

Unless of course you are advertising Madame Tussauds Wax Museum.

This commercial talking about the “Vegas season,” as if it were Christmas, scared the MGM Grand outta me.

‘DWTS’ finalists

Don’t hate me for thinking the wrong couple went home last night on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars.”

Frankly, none of the bottom three should have been in the bottom three. Put me in the camp that says Candace Cameron Bure has run her course on the dance show.

She’s nice. She’s sweet. She tries hard. But I have no idea how she got two 10s for that jazz performance last night. I thought it was awful.

Carrie Ann said she needed more attitude. She needs a full house of attitude.

Of the three that were left at the bottom, ice dancers Charlie White and Meryl Davis and Amy Purdy -- Charlie was the right choice. I think his routines are kinda cheesy -- but he is waaaaay better that Candace.

Let the boooooos begin.

Pop pebbles

♦ Not a fan of the “The Amazing Spider-Man 2.” Slightly tedious and I wasn’t impressed by Jamie Foxx as Electro. The couple sitting next to me actually left.

♦ Really, really like the just recently released Michael Jackson single “Love Never Felt So Good.” Took me back to a happy place. Don’t forget if you like MJ, that “The Immortal Tour” with Cirque du Soleil is coming to The Forum next week.

♦ This week, I was supposed to be in Hershey, Pa., to see Bruce Springsteen. Decided to save the money and sent my cousins the tickets. I hope they have a good time - the show here was great.

♦ Still reeling from Sunday’s “Mad Men.” No, not what you think. The Michael Ginsberg breakdown was unexpected as was his self-mutilation. OUCH!
