Happy Friday everyone.
Well, Miley Cyrus came and went and the Forum and the city are still standing. Plus, it sounds as if it was rockin’ show.
♦ Five days a week I put one of the MOST IMPORTANT things in the paper — today’s birthdays. Errors or exclusions of celebrity birthdays, puzzles and comics prompts hyperventilation across the land.
Frankly, the birthdays make me depressed somedays.
I really don’t want to think about William Shatner turning 83 years old tomorrow. Captain Kirk is more than 80 years old! Aging, too, it seems, is the Kobayshi Maru.
But then, Carl Reiner turned 92 on Thursday. Makes me happy to know he’s still kickin’ around.
♦ One of my goals this weekend is to NOT spend Saturday in my home. Too much to do: the Cuban Sandwich Festival in Ybor has several of my colleagues as judges; PBR Bull Riding at the Forum has me pondering my days at rodeos in South Dakota and, the grand daddy, AirFest 2014. You can bet I’ll see the Thunderbirds — especially since I’m an Air Force brat.
You can get a sneak at their performance as they practice around 2 p.m. today.
