Fallon heats up Orlando, touts Universal’s Diagon Alley

Jimmy Fallon kicked off a week of “The Tonight Show” at Universal Resorts in Orlando Monday in Florida fashion — as Crockett (with sidekick Steve Higgins as Tubbs) from the NBC cop drama “Miami Vice.”

After a brief ABBA-inspired campfire sing with The Roots where their hit “Fernando” was now “Orlando,” Fallon and Higgins donned the ‘80s look, jumped in a slow-moving boat (so slow they used hair dryers to simulate their hair being blown back) as the “Miami Vice” theme song played.

After running through a receiving line of Universal characters from Shrek to Minions to Optimus Prime, Fallon hit the Orlando stage where he complained about what Florida humidity was doing to his hair and pointed out how inexpensive MIami Heat jerseys were in the gift shop, thanks to the team’s loss to the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA finals.

Then he got down to business and the real reason he was there — to tout the Universal’s newest attraction, Harry Potter’s Diagon Alley (as if it really needed a push).

A visit to Olivander’s Wand Shop, with Higgins in tow, was full of double entendres — including a Viagra spell.

Fallon’s first guest was Jennifer Lopez, who was on just a few days ago doing a “Tight Pants” song she said (jokingly, we think) was getting more attention than her new album that drops today. She promoted “AKA” as the musical guest as well.

Keenen Ivory Wayans, guest No. 2, talked about Lopez’s audition as a Fly Girl on “Living Color.”

But the real highlight of the night, and going viral now, was another edited rap by NBC News anchor Brian Williams performing Sir Mix-A-Lot’s “Baby Got Back.” Watch it here.

Tonight’s guests are Kevin Hart and Jimmy Buffett.
