Boy, oh boy, do people love their candy.
Even more, they love the idea of free candy bars.
In late October, we ran a candy wrapper quiz in the Flavor section and asked readers to name a 13th candy bar for a prize. More than 125 readers replied.
No, it wasn't Zagnut. It wasn't a Charleston Chew.
The iconic 13th bar with the silver, blue and red wrapper was a Three Musketeers bar.
"It was my late father's favorite," wrote Susan Morales of Sebring.
"He once told me that it originally contained chocolate, vanilla and strawberry, but costs and consumer preference created the single flavor known today," Morales says. "Finally one of the bits of trivia in my head turned out to be truthful!"
Reader Dale Sena of Tampa said our quiz "was OK" but sent one of his own for us to take. Congrats, Dale, you stumped us!
To pick a winner, we asked WFLA NewsChannel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann to close her eyes and pick from the batch of correct answers. The grand-prize winner of an entire box of Three Musketeers: Jonathan Westlake of Thonotosassa. We'll have that candy to you in time to carve it for Thanksgiving, Jonathan.
