Coachman Reserve offers resort-style living

With location being such an important part of the home-buying equation, Reed Williams is certain that Coachman Reserve, Pulte Homes' new community in Clearwater, will be a success.

"Its location is paramount, in the heart of Pinellas County, close to beaches, shopping, entertainment and not too far from Tampa,'' says Williams, vice president of sales for Pulte Homes Tampa division. "It's close to the intersection of two main roads - [State Road] 60 and Belcher - yet tucked away in an intimate, cozy setting."

Location isn't the only thing that sets the community apart from others in the Bay area.

"Coachman Reserve is a community of carriage homes," Williams says. "It's a unique concept that was developed in response to buyers' demands.

"Many buyers will buy town homes but say they really want one-floor living. So, we developed these homes that look like town homes but have all living areas on a single floor with an attached garage."

Pulte offers four floor plans with 1,554 to 2,045 square feet of living space.

Homes include two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a den and one- or two-car garages. They are priced from $222,900 to $271,900, including lot.

"All are concrete block, have screened lanais, tile roofs and hurricane shutters," Williams says. "They're built to last. Some buyers have called them 'bunkers' compared to other homes they've looked at."

Corian counter tops and wood cabinets in the kitchens, tile floors in the wet areas of bathrooms and kitchens and vaulted ceilings add to the charm and functionality of the homes, Williams says.

"It's very spacious, and the concept is hard to explain," Williams says. "Once people see it, they're excited because it's so well executed."

The floor plans with their large bedrooms are ideal for roommates or even grandparents with grandchildren who visit a lot, he says.

"Focus groups indicated that the secondary bedrooms shouldn't be tiny - people want to use them for craft rooms, additional spaces - they need to be useful. So, we designed them as multipurpose or flex rooms."

The gated community, which opened this year, also offers residents a state-of-the-art fitness center, featuring plasma televisions, as well as cardio and weight-training equipment.

Open 24 hours, it provides an excellent opportunity for residents to work out whenever they want, Williams says.

Lush landscaping and a resort-style pool with covered cabana add to the luxury of the community, he adds.

Coachman Reserve is three miles from the beach, Williams says, adding that many buyers from the Rocky Point and West Shore areas of Tampa say they chose to buy in the community because of its proximity to recreational areas as well as their workplaces.

Models at Coachman Reserve, 2062 Carriage Lane, are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
