SEMINOLE HEIGHTS -

Officials with the city’s parks and recreation department will hold a public workshop at 6 p.m. Wednesday to discuss creating a dog park at Henry & Ola Park.

The workshop will be at the Seminole Heights Garden Center, 5800 N. Central Ave.

Dog owners a few months ago launched a petition drive in support of establishing a park for their pets. Henry & Ola Park, at 300 W. Henry Ave., is the starting point on Saturdays for the group’s weekly dog walk.

A fundraiser recently was held at Courteous Canine in Lutz to collect donations to pay for the dog park’s construction. If the park is built, supporters say they would like to dedicate it to military personnel, first responders, K9s and service dogs.
