PLANT CITY Doctors, children with cancer and others were on hand as Hyundai Hope On Wheels donated $50,000 to St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital Foundation of Tampa.
Hope on Wheels said it made the donation to the children’s hospital foundation “for its proven track record in providing excellent patient care to families affected by pediatric cancer and to support its continued efforts.”
St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital Foundation has received $795,000 in funding from Hope On Wheels since 2006.
The award was presented at what Hope on Wheels calls a “Handprint Ceremony” where children affected by cancer dipped their hands in colorful paint and placed their handprints on a white Hyundai Santa Fe Sport to commemorate their battles with cancer.
Hyundai and its dealers have been donating to the fight against pediatric cancer in 1998.
St. Joseph’s is part of BayCare Health System, which includes South Florida Baptist Hospital in Plant City.
