A tweet from “Wheel of Fortune” host Pat Sajak is blowing up on Twitter.
The conservative game show host, better known for selling vowels and giving up R,S,T,L,N and E for free than he is for any political views, took to the social network late Monday to let loose on people concerned about climate change.
“I now believe global warming alarmists are unpatriotic racists knowingly misleading for their own ends. Good night,” Sajak posted.
The tweet has since garnered thousands of retweets and responses, both from supporters and outraged opponents.
There’s no indication to what sparked Sajak’s comments — the tweet was sandwiched between a Twitter photo of Sajak “frolicking” on a couch with comedian Martin Short, and a joke about taking money from the tip jar in a sandwich shop.
Sajak definitely seemed amused with the attention, though. Later he tweeted, “Sometimes it’s fun to poke a stick in a hornets’ nest just to hear the buzzing.”
This morning he addressed the attention again, tweeting, “Later today I’ll be tweeting my views on the subjects of nuclear proliferation and free-range chicken.”
