Things to do in Carrollwood, New Tampa this weekend

Awesome ‘80s: Rubix Cubed brings the sounds of the ‘80s to The Shops at Wiregrass as part of its weekly Concerts on the Circle live music series.

Concerts take place Thursdays throughout April from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the valet circle on Piazza Avenue. A live DJ kicks off the show at 6 p.m. and the band performs at 7 p.m. Dress in your favorite ‘80s-themed attire.

The Shops at Wiregrass offers a commemorative drink mug for $10 with proceeds donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. For information, go to www.theshopsatwiregrass.com.

Ravishing Rihanna: Grammy Award winner Rihanna’s Diamonds World Tour will sparkle at 7:30 p.m. at the Forum, 401 Channelside Drive in downtown Tampa.

Rihanna’s catalog includes 11 chart-topping singles, including “We Found Love,” which spent 10 weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100; 18 number one singles on the Billboard Dance Club Song Charts; and 22 top-10 singles.

Tickets range from $36.75 to $122.25 plus service charges, and are available at the Forum box office, through Ticketmaster or online at www.tampabaytimesforum.com.

Dance showcase: The University of South Florida Student Dance Production Board presents “Yours Truly...,” featuring works by USF’s premiere student choreographers, at 8 p.m. Friday, and 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday in Theatre 1 on USF’s Tampa campus. Tickets are $12 at the door with a percentage of the proceeds benefiting the Michelle Vargas Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Gardening glory: The Town ‘N Country Garden Circle Extravaganza takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Jackson Springs Recreation Center, 8620 Jackson Springs Road. The event includes a plant sale featuring plants grown by Garden Circle members along with gardening experts, plant societies and vendors, plus booths of hand crafts, a food truck rally and more. This event is sponsored by the Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation & Conservation Department.

Oompa Loompas: Tampa Theatre’s Family Favorites movie series continues with the 1971 feature film “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” starring Gene Wilder, at 3 p.m. at 711 N. Franklin St. in downtown Tampa. Tickets are $9 for adults and $7 for children, and are available at the Tampa Theatre box office, 711 N. Franklin St.
