Speed dating for foodies at Whole Foods in Carrollwood

CARROLLWOOD – When people use the term “meat market” in the context of dating, it doesn’t have the purest of connotations.

So we won’t use that.

However, the “express lane of love” might work for the Whole Foods Market in Carrollwood. At least for one night.

On Valentine’s Day, Whole Foods is offering a night of speed dating, where foodies can find love and/or friendship. It will be a night where singles can mingle with others while enjoying free wine, cheese and desserts.

And there will be speed dating. People will be placed in similar age groups in order to heighten the match potential while offering the couple a chance to talk in a somewhat quiet atmosphere with a time limit – that case, if things get boring, folks can move on to the next match.

Participants will need to register in advance here.

This is just a part of an entire work of romance at Whole Foods. On Thursday, there will be a Chocolate, Wine & Caviar event in the specialty department from 5 to 7 p.m. Tickets cost $7 and gourmet chocolates will be paired with caviar and 25 red, sweet, white, and dry wines along with beer from all over the world.

Also, Whole Foods is offering a bouquet wrapping and gift basket station Wednesday through Friday on in the floral department. Two dozen roses can be purchased for $19.99 and floral specialists will be available to help design gift baskets and flower arrangements.
