TAMPA -

With some northwest Hillsborough County lakes spilling over their banks in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Debby and other recent rains, free sandbags are available at the county's three public works service units.

Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at all three centers:

- West Service Unit - 9805 Sheldon Road

- South Service Unit – 8718 Old Big Bend Road

- East Service Unit – 4702 Sydney Road

Filled sandbags are available for elderly and disabled people. Sandbag materials are on hand for those physically able to fill their own.

Recipients will be asked to provide their home address and sign a form acknowledging receipt of 25 sandbags, or fewer.

Call (813) 635-5400 to report problems or request information.
