NORTHDALE - Whole Foods Market Carrollwood has scheduled a free Sunday "Local-palooza."
Local artisans, bakers, brewers and fishermen have been invited to participate in the three-hour vendor fair.
"We seek out culinary treasures from small, dedicated food artisans who share Whole Foods Market's passion for excellence, tradition, purity and regional identity," a spokeswoman said.
In 2006, the company set aside $10 million to aid local producers with low-interest loans for capital expenditures, a program minimizing fees, interest rates and paperwork.
The event is from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the market, 3802 Northdale Blvd.
From noon to 4 p.m. today, the Local-palooza is being held at the Whole Foods Market Tampa, 1548 N. Dale Mabry Highway.
Local producers invited to attend and share samples of their products include Joe's Oat Patties; Brimstone Original Hot Pepper Jellies; Bavarro's Pasta Sauce; Aramouni Hummus; Key's Fisheries' Sunset Salsa; Deland Bakery; Uncle Matt's Organic juices; Flavors of Florida Hot Sauces; Florida Beer Co.; and Cosi Duci cookies.
