Cult Movie Mania winds down in August at Tampa Pitcher Show

CARROLLWOOD - Cult Movie Mania's 2013 Screaming Cinema Series is winding down in August, with the final three Friday night movies at the Tampa Pitcher Show theater.

This marks the second year of the series that also showcases short films and features prizes and trivia competitions.

Joel D. Wynkoop returns as host. The 53-year-old Tampa actor has 80 low-budget films to his credit, including "Rot," scheduled Aug. 30, the final film of this year's series.

Cult Movie Mania celebrates the wild world of cult film, including horror, sci-fi, fantasy, art-house, exploitation, biker films and experimental animation. Titles have included classics like "Night of the Living Dead, Eraserhead" and "John Dies at the End, The Disco Exorcist."

The remaining films are:

Aug. 2: "Amerikan Holokaust," which was filmed in Pinellas County

Aug. 16: "Taeter City," a sci-fi/horror shocker film from Italy

Aug. 30: "Rot," directed by Marcus Koch

All shows start at 10:30 p.m. at the Tampa Pitcher Show, 14416 N. Dale Mabry Highway. Tickets are $8.
