The Carrollwood Cultural Center’s youth theater troupe, Broadway Bound, will hold open auditions from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. May 18 for the summer production of “HONK! Jr.”
Children ages 6 to 17 should be prepared to sing, dance and deliver a monologue as part of their audition at the center, 4537 Lowell Road in Tampa.
Broadway Bound is an educational musical theater group. By offering comprehensive training in dance, music, and drama, children have the opportunity to be well-rounded performers.
“HONK! Jr.” is a contemporary retelling of Hans Christian Anderson’s “The Ugly Duckling.” The show, with music by George Stiles and book and lyrics by Anthony Drewe, is being presented through a special arrangement with Music Theatre International.
The cast will be enrolled in the Broadway Bound summer camp, giving the performers an opportunity to learn about both the performance and production of a musical stage show. The camp will run June 10 through July 26, with performances scheduled for July 27-28.
