CARROLLWOOD – After nearly a year hiatus, Publix is ready to make a return to the Carrollwood Village area.
A new store that stands in the footprint of the former location at 13178 N. Dale Mabry Highway and is slated to open Feb. 6, according to company spokesman Brian West.
“We are so excited to open this store for our customers,” West said. “This store will provide them with the clean, pleasant shopping experience they’ve come to know and love at Publix.”
The former store closed in April 2013 and was demolished to make way for the new 49,000-square-foot building that will contain a pharmacy and boast the Lakeland-based chain’s newest décor package.
“The décor package uses products that are a blend of natural or organic materials combined with an earth-toned color palette that provide an upscale environment,” West said.
Final touches on the new store were still going into place in mid-January, but officials say everything is on track for opening.
