Bucs Q&A: Is Schiano on hot seat?

Published:   |   Updated: October 21, 2013 at 03:13 PM

Q: Do you think Greg Schiano should be on the coaching hot seat at season's end and do you think quarterback should be the first selection in the draft next year?

- Deedrick, Tampa

A: I think Schiano is already on the coaching hot seat. The Glazers have always been very patient with their coaches, but they have a team that is ready to win now. Many inside the building at One Buc Place believe they have a team that is ready to contend for the playoffs now. They haven't looked at all like a winner or a playoff contender and the decision to change quarterbacks puts a lot of heat him.

Clearly something is wrong. This team is far too talented to be 0-4 and be 0-4 the way they are. As for next year's first-round pick, we really have to wait and see how Mike Glennon does. He looked like a good game manager for 57 minutes on Sunday. If that continues and he can play sound football for 60 minutes for the rest of the season the Bucs may feel confident with him moving forward. But a lot depends on the coaching situation. If Schiano is no longer here come Draft Day 2014, the new coach may have his own ideas regarding a quarterback.
