Things to do in the Brandon area this weekend

TODAYShark shenanigans: The Florida Aquarium kicks off Shark Week, a week of events dedicated to the endangered ocean predator that include shark dive shows, interactive shark games, a shark-themed scavenger hunt, and live appearances by several species of sharks at 701 Channelside Drive.

Like Bikes? The Plant City Bike Fest is the first Saturday of every month from 5 to 9 p.m. at McCall Park, 102 N. Palmer St. There is a motorcycle show, awards, food, drinks, vendors, a 50/50 raffle and more.

Jonas bonus: The pop trio the Jonas Brothers are back with a new album, "V," and a long-awaited tour that will make a stop at the MidFlorida Amphitheatre, 4801 U.S. 41 N., at 7 p.m. today. Tickets range from $39 to $95 and are available by calling (813) 740-2446 or visiting www.livenation.com.

Beer bonanza: WaZoo Beer Fest is on tap for 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at Lowry Park Zoo, 1101 W. Sligh Ave.

For one ticket price, beer aficionados can sample from more than 275 types of beer from 70 breweries worldwide. Also, a custom brew will debut at WaZoo. There also will be food and live music. Event proceeds benefit animal care and education programs at the zoo.

General admission tickets start at $60, and VIP tickets are $100 and are available at LowryParkZoo.com, by calling (813) 935-8552 ext. 276, or at the door.

Daa dum, daa dum ... : In a first for the Summer Classic Movie series, friends and fans of Tampa Theatre were invited to vote, and have selected "Jaws" to be screened at 3 p.m. Sunday. Roy Scheider, Richard Dreyfuss and Robert Shaw star in this tale of one hungry fish.

Tickets are $9 general admission and $7 for Tampa Theatre members and are available at the box office, 711 N. Franklin St. For information call (813) 274-8981 or go to www.tampatheatre.org.
