In an effort to keep kids safer around the water and reduce the number of toddler drownings, area Infant Swimming Resource Instructors are volunteering their time to offer water safety presentations at daycare centers, preschool facilities and libraries.
The Water Safety Circle Time is a 20-30 minute interactive program where the children, with the use of stuffed animals and under the guidance of an ISR Instructor, formulate water safety rules. The children are encouraged to share these safety rules with their families.
Infant Swimming Resource is a program founded by Dr. Harvey Barnett more than 40 years ago. The program is dedicated in preventing pediatric drowning by teaching survival swimming skills to infants and young children from age 6 months to 6 years.
