Seven people, including a child, have been displaced and a dog was rescured after a fire at a Riverview house today.

Hillsborough County firefighters responded this afternoon to 11411 Tucker Road after receiving several 911 calls from nearby residents who reported seeing smoke coming from a window.

When firefighers arrived, they found heavy smoke and fire coming from a window, and after a search of the house, found the flames coming from inside a large room and extinguished the fire within minutes, officials say.

None of the residents were inside the house and no injuries were reported, but a puppy was rescued and is in good condition after being exposed to smoke, officials say.

One area of the house sustained heavy fire damage, with smoke damage to the rest of the house, officials say.

The Red Cross is assisting in relocating the family, officials say.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
