Four units of an apartment complex were destroyed and four others were damaged in a fire today in Brandon, according to Hillsborough Fire Rescue.
The two-alarm fire was reported at 12:57 p.m. in Unit 202 of the Charleston Landings at 902 Delaney Circle in Brandon, according to Frank Fernandez, division chief of personnel for Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.
At one point the firefighters went to "code red" and had crews leave the building, Fernandez said. They went on defensive fighting the fire from the ladder with water.
One firefighter was taken to a hospital for treatment of heat exhaustion, Fernandez said. One resident was injured, but refused treatment at the scene.
