Broadway legend Audra McDonald's performance next week at the Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg has been canceled.
The six-time Tony winner was scheduled to perform an "evening with" show at the Mahaffey on March 13, but according to the venue it has been called off due to "scheduling conflicts." No make-up date has yet been announced. Tickets will be automatically refunded.
Whatever schedule conflict McDonald had, it's not affecting her show the next night at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall in Sarasota. Executive Director Mary Bensel said they've already sold some 1,500 tickets, and that show is going full speed ahead.
"This'll be the third time we've presented Ms. McDonald, and her show is always a huge hit here," Bensel said. "It's absolutely going forward."
Tickets to the March 14 show in Sarasota start at $56. Click here for details.
