The Great Horrible Flu of 2018 yields to no man. Not even the ageless Willie Nelson.
The country icon has canceled a swath of February tour dates as he continues recovering from a recent bout with the flu. Among a half-dozen Florida dates impacted is a sold-out Feb. 15 concert at Ruth Eckerd Hall. His tour will resume as scheduled in March.
"He is up and about and looks as healthy as ever," read a statement from his publicist, "but his doctor has determined that his voice needs more time to recuperate to give the performances you all love seeing."
Said Nelson in the same statement: "I will see you all down the road."
Nelson's announcement didn't specify whether all shows were fully canceled or merely postponed, but on Tuesday, Ruth Eckerd Hall said it was a postponement and the show would be rescheduled. No date has yet been set, but tickets will be honored on the new date. We'll keep you posted.
