Matt Duffy leaves Rays game in first inning with right hamstring tightness

UPDATE, 8:09: The Rays said it was right hamstring tightness for Duffy, and he will be re-evaluated Tuesday. Good news is that it's nothing to do with previously troublesome left foot.

DEVELOPING: Still dealing with the fallout of CF Kevin Kiermaier needing right thumb surgery that will sideline him into July, the Rays lost 3B Matt Duffy to injury in the first inning on Monday.

Duffy led off with a single, but looked slow in stealing second and was bothered by some type of foot or leg issue as he moved up to third on a single and left the game.

The level of concern would understandably be high as Duffy missed all of last season with left heel and Achillies issues. He had no known problems during spring training or in the first two weeks of this season.

Joey Wendle replaced Duffy on third and then took over at second base, with Daniel Robertson moving to third.
