Snooty the Manatee's 66th Birthday Bash

Published:

Only in Florida do manatees get their own birthday celebrations. And at the South Florida Museum in Bradenton, their beloved manatee, Snooty, celebrates his 66th birthday on July 19, 2014.

Isn’t that incredible?

Join the celebration and sing ‘Happy Birthday’ with partygoers for the big day and take part in the Birthday Bash and Arts & Wildlife Awareness Festival. Admission to the outdoor birthday celebration in the Spanish Plaza on 10th street is free. The museum’s general galleries, aquarium and planetarium admission will be half-price that in honor of Snooty’s big day.

At noon, don’t miss the presentation of Snooty’s birthday cake made of fruits and vegetables. With plenty of arts and crafts activities, free drinks and cookies for children, a misting station and slide for kids – it’s a day filled with fun.

Snooty calls the Parker Manatee Aquarium his home and he serves as the official mascot of Manatee County, Florida. He is also known to be the oldest manatee in the world and that’s definitely cause for a celebration.
