Around Florida: Movies Under the Moonlight

Published:

One of my family’s favorite ways to end a day in Florida is to watch a movie under the stars.

Throughout the Sunshine State, you’ll find places featuring moonlight movies. Here are a few of our favorites:

Walt Disney World – Guests staying at any of Walt Disney World’s on-property resorts can catch a Disney classic nightly by the pool. From "Frozen" to "Toy Story’," a movie night is a great way to unwind after a day at the parks.

Clearwater Beach – Experience the Sunsets at Pier 60 Festival, held every night along the waterfront in Clearwater Beach. Enjoy arts and crafts vendors, live entertainment and on Friday and Saturday nights, bring a blanket and watch a movie under the stars.

Panama City Beach – Dive on in at the Panama City Beach Holiday Inn Resort for a "Dive Inn" movie. In addition to family favorites, the resort offers guests complimentary popcorn. Movies are seasonal, starting nightly in mid-April and lasting until October.

Universal Orlando Resort – At the new Cabana Bay Beach Resort, grab a chair or a blanket and watch a show along the poolfront. Stop by the Bayline Diner for some ice cream or make your own picnic and you’ll be ready for a show under the stars. Stop by the main lobby each afternoon to see the movie lineup for the night ahead.

What are some of your favorite places to enjoy a movie under the stars?
