Experience the New Florida Keys Aquarium Encounters

Published:

Families visiting the Florida Keys don’t want to miss the area’s newest attraction – the Florida Keys Aquarium Encounters in Marathon.

The highlight of the aquarium attraction features a coral reef exhibit, along with a shark habitat housed in a massive 200,000-gallon, interconnected saltwater aquarium.

The coral reef encounter incorporates tethered technology that allows those without diving or Scuba experience to become immersed into the tank and come face to face with sharks – but separated by a Plexiglass wall.

Other interactive aquarium encounters include touch tanks featuring starfish, conchs and horseshoe crabs. There are also opportunities to feed stingrays and docile baby nurse sharks. Throughout the attraction, marine biologists are available to answer questions and educate visitors about life in the tanks.

This new attraction teaches visitors the importance of marine conservation and it’s the perfect place for families wanting to learn more about the underwater habitats found in the Florida Keys.
