New festival couples fitness with weddings and Tampa Indie Flea gets new digs

Perfect Coupling: VKNG Boho Wedding Festival
Everyone wants to look and feel their best on their wedding day, so it's common for those who don't normally work out to join a gym or hire a trainer as soon as the date is set. But finding the right exercise plan can be overwhelming amid all the other wedding plans. Enter the VKNG Boho Wedding Festival, Saturday at Tampa's Curtis Hixon Park. It pairs fitness classes led by professional instructors with a bohemian market of local wedding vendors. The inaugural festival is the brainchild of Bradford Stevens of Tampa's Viking Fitness and photographers Jessie and Paul Stehlik of Foto Bohemia. The Stehliks have been shooting weddings in Tampa for 20 years, so they know the best vendors in the biz. The festival offers boot camp-style classes, chats with wedding professionals on topics like "Social Media and Your Wedding," a brunch with food from Sono Cafe and a dance class for couples. Brides and grooms can bring the entire wedding squad along. I want to go, and I'm already married. 7:30 a.m.-noon at 600 N Ashley Drive. Free. Reserve a spot at vikingboho.com.

New Digs: Tampa Indie Flea
The Indie Flea, Tampa's monthly showcase of more than 70 local and regional makers, now has a permanent location in Armature Works. The market is the third Sunday of every month in an indoor portion of the mixed-use space in Tampa Heights called the Gathering, with more than 10,000 square feet, exposed brick and wood floors. Armature Works, which overlooks the Hillsborough River, is also home to the Heights Public Market, with more than a dozen food vendors, a rooftop bar and two restaurants. Doesn't shopping make everyone hungry? At least thirsty? I love this movement of shared spaces happening in Tampa — come for the shopping and discover a new food. 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at 1910 N Ola Ave. theindieflea.com.
