Bucs journal: LB Adarius Taylor making a (new) name for himself

If you don't recognize the "TAYLOR" on the back of No. 53's jersey at Bucs practice, it's because it's the linebacker formerly known as Adarius Glanton, who changed his last name in the offseason to honor his father, and has impressed Dirk Koetter with a healthy return.

Taylor's 2017 season ended with a broken leg in a Dec. 18 loss to the Falcons, but he's back and filling in as the starting strongside linebacker while Kendell Beckwith recovers from his ankle injury.

"It's somewhat of a medical miracle that he's out here practicing at full speed," Bucs coach Dirk Koetter said. "The second thing that jumps out: He changed his name, he got married and he's playing all three linebacker spots. I'd say Adarius is ready to step up and do everything he can to help."

THIS AND THAT: Koetter had praise for second-year T Cole Gardner, who has filled in some for Donovan Smith at left tackle: "That guy's one of the biggest surprises, probably, of our offseason."… Second-year TE Antony Auclair won't practice this week, slowed by an ankle injury. Koetter said it isn't a significant injury. … Koetter on undrafted rookie RB Shaun Wilson from Duke: "That guy has impressed me … Shaun Wilson has done a really nice job. He's a smaller guy, so durability will be the question. He had a nice punt return today, really good hands, good route runner. He's smart. He's picked things up."
