After garnering more than 80 awards over the years for its innovative and creative home designs, Avalon Building Corp. recently added another accolade to its collection. Avalon was named a Grand Award winner in the 2012 Tampa Bay Builders Association Parade of Homes for its Antigua model in Seven Oaks.

The Parade of Homes, which ran from March 17 to April 1, showcased 90 model homes in more than 50 communities throughout Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas counties. Avalon was one of three dozen builders competing in this year's event.

"We are very grateful to have been recognized with the Grand Award for our model," said Ralph Zuckerman, president of Avalon Building Corp.

Starting as low as $83 per square foot (plus lot), customers can choose from home plans that range from 1,800 to 4,200 square feet, including eight new designs.

"These amazing prices are a great way for families to finally build their brand new Avalon dream home and take advantage of incredible values and the lowest interest rates in decades," Zuckerman said.

As an added bonus – and for a free spending spree – Avalon is offering an additional $10,000 in free upgrades for a limited time.

Avalon's Antigua model, which is built in Watermark at Seven Oaks in Wesley Chapel, has 3,654 square feet of living space and is priced from $303,900, plus the lot. The Antigua model features four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a den, a bonus room and a three-car garage.

In previous Parade of Homes events, Avalon won the Grand Award for its Avalon IV model, which is 3,170 square feet and is priced from $263,900, plus lot. The Avalon IV also features four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a den, a bonus room and a three-car garage.

"We are working with lots of new customers," Zuckerman said. "People know us as a local, well-established builder."

One of Avalon's newest luxury designs is the Bella Vista model, a 4,127-square-foot home that starts at $396,900.

"We literally wrote a wish list of all the latest, most dynamic and 'wow' features we could ever want in a home and this model incorporates them all – and at a surprisingly affordable price," he said. "You have got to see this amazing home; check out the Bella Vista photo gallery on our website."

Avalon has long been known for its upscale, yet value-friendly, award-winning homes. The 17-year-old homebuilder, which builds throughout Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas counties, offers a customer-first approach and will customize their plans to meet customers' needs.

Avalon also is known for building these homes on your own lot or on one of their lots.

Building on your lot means you have the flexibility to build in existing planned communities or on your own estate lot.

"Avalon is accustomed to the nuances and additional steps necessary to build on your lot," Zuckerman said. "We are happy to take a look at your site and give you feedback and answer any questions. If you need a lot, give us a call. We have beautiful half-acre, one-acre and multi-acre homesites throughout the Tampa Bay area."

Avalon's semi-custom building expertise means the company adapts existing designs to accommodate the home buyer.

"For our semi-custom work, we gladly make changes to plans to fit your family's needs," he said. "We will customize our home plans to add to your enjoyment and build your home just the way you want it."

All Avalon's home plans also feature details that would be considered upgrades by many builders, but come standard in an Avalon-built home. Some of the features include granite countertops in the kitchen, Corian countertops in the bathrooms, all-wood cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, and energy-efficient double-paned low-e windows.

One of Avalon's communities with the new floor plans is Autumn Oaks, a community in north Pasco County.

"Autumn Oaks is a mature, beautifully maintained community of 300 homes, and features rare, half-acre (100 by 200 feet) wooded, privacy lots offering peaceful views and plenty of room between neighbors," Zuckerman said.

"Home packages including a half-acre wooded lot start in the low $200,000's. Best of all, with only $7,900 to $9,900 down, your family can move in to a brand new 1,800- to 2,600-square-foot home on a spacious lot in a great community. Don't wait because there are only seven left. And you can upgrade to a full one-acre wooded lot for only $15,000 more."

Autumn Oaks is on County Line Road. To the west is U.S. 19 and to the east is the Suncoast Parkway, offering access to the heart of Tampa in approximately 20 minutes and shopping and amenities just minutes away, Zuckerman said.

Zuckerman also invites homebuyers to visit Avalon's Grand Award-winning furnished model in Seven Oaks in Wesley Chapel.

"We will build you and your family a beautifully designed home with quality construction, we'll make any changes you want to make it yours, we'll build in the location of your choice, and we'll do it at a great price. Come see us. You'll be glad you did."
